Menchaca 374th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- In an effort to help promote financial resiliency among Airmen and their families, the Air Force has designated Feb. 20-27 as Military Saves week. The Military Saves Campaign is an annual Air Force wide campaign that emphasizes the importance of creating and maintaining a savings plan through educational programs and events. It is a financial readiness initiative endorsed by the Office of the Secretary of Defense to be implemented by the Air Force to improve financial readiness of Airmen to enhance mission readiness. The campaign runs in conjunction with the Military Youth Saves Campaign, which is designed to educate children of military members on financial matters and help instill healthy financial habits. "My goal as Yokota's personal financial management representative is to get people on the base excited to learn about Yokota's financial readiness opportunities that are available to them at the Airman and Family Readiness Center," said Ebony Davila, 374th Force Support Squadron. "As an Air Force, we have done very well using the dual campaign week to highlight saving as a key part of financial planning and overall financial resiliency," said Charles Milam, Director of Air Force Services, Headquarters United States Air Force, Washington, D.C. Financial management classes are available throughout the month, or individuals can make an appointment with the A&FRC for one-on-one counseling about personal financial readiness.
