In an effort to reach Yokota Air Base's $300,000 goal for the Combined Federal Campaign- Overseas, the deadline has been extended until Dec. 15.

Yokota is currently at 90 percent of its goal and with the help of this extension, residents will have the opportunity to help reach this year's targeted amount.

Through the CFC-O federal employees can choose to donate to any number of the 2,300 organizations working to address many critical needs throughout the world.  Many of these charities support reintegration programs for service members overseas, as well as various programs for veterans, active duty service members and their families.

The CFC-O offers contributors the opportunity to give either through the traditional paper pledge card or through e-Giving at the CFC-O website.

Contributors can also choose to support their local overseas military communities through the Family Support and Youth Programs (FSYP). Donations to FSYP are returned to the installation to support quality of life at Yokota.

Last year Yokota raised over $250,000 in effort to support charities around the world.

Mrs. Tammy Hogue, 374th Comptroller Squadron accounting technician, said "I donate because you never know when you'll need help from one of these organizations."

Retired MSgt Tammy Hogue has been donating to the CFC-O for over 20 years. She started donating in 1983 when her First Sergeant volunteered her as a CFC Representative. So decades later, she was extremely grateful to have the Fisher House available to her during her stay at Tripler, while her son was ill.

She added, "Knowing that there are so many incredible programs out there for our families during their time of need, made possible through the contributions of others, is huge to someone going through a difficult time."
