Electrical power to all Yokota Air Base East side garden units has been restored, however, two residential towers remain without power.

All residents of towers 4302 and 4303 are asked to report to the Kanto Lodge for contingency billeting assignments if they do not yet have arrangements.

Progress on the restoration of power to these towers continues and officials hope to begin moving residents back into their homes by 12 p.m. tomorrow.

In two Town Hall meetings today, Col. Otto Feather, 374th Airlift Wing Commander, addressed questions from those affected by the outages and commented on the recovery efforts from the July 5 storm that dumped 3.5 inches of rain in less than one hour, leaving residents of Yokota's East side without power.

"The response from Team Yokota has been incredible," the colonel said. "Everyone, from Colonels to Airmen, came together to get contingency lodging up and running in record time."

The colonel also thanked residents for their patience as restoration efforts continue.

"I'm continually impressed with your patience and willingness to help those in need, especially when many of you are among those in need," Colonel Feather said.

Air conditioning to quarters on the East side remain inoperative due to degraded transformer capability. Details on the activation plans for cooling units will be released as they become available.
