The 374th Security Forces Squadron held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new Combat Arms Training and Maintenance firing range at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Aug. 25. After the ceremony, guests were given a tour of the facility and the leadership team in attendance also participated in a 9-hole firing drill.

The new firing range was built to replace the neighboring CATM facility, which has been in service since 1975. The firing range features an improved target retrieval system, individual lane shielding and accommodates 14 shooters per class, boosting qualification throughput by 40%. Beginning in September 2025, all firing classes will be held at the new facility.
