Yokota joint training brings the heat
Firefighters from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni help each other don their protective equipment before entering a flashover trainer Aug. 4, 2015, at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Flashover, a near-simultaneous ignition of many objects in a confined room, creates a dangerous situation where both heat and smoke continue to increase until combustion. Yokota firefighters participated in this annual joint, bilateral training exercise with the Marine firefighters to learn and recognize the signs of a flashover.
