459th AS takes to the air for historic formation flight

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Maj. Destry Hill, 374th Operations Group pilot and 1st Lt. Sean Abling, 459th Airlift Squadron co-pilot, fly in formation behind three other UH-1N Iroquois helicopters, over Yokota Air Base, Japan, May 19, 2011. The formation flight was an opportunity for Yokota to get a glimpse of the raw beauty and power that these 42-year-old war relics still portray said Staff Sgt. Christopher Rector, 459th Airlift Squadron flight engineer. It also showcased our maintenance and the pride we take in knowing they can keep our wing fully ready to accomplish the mission on any given day. This was the first time since 2002 that all four of Yokota's "Hueys," flew together. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Andrea Salazar)
