Friendship Festival
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Local Japanese citizens run through the gates on opening day to be the first in line at Yokota's Friendship Festival. More than 130,000 people attended the two-day 2010 Yokota Air Base Japanese-American Friendship Festival Aug. 21-22. The base opened its gates to the public allowing Japanese citizens to get a glimpse of the base and interact with the Yokota community. The festival itself offered static displays, live music, games, and a variety of American and Japanese food items. The festival bolstered the bilateral relationship shared by the United States and Japan. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt Stacy Moless)
