Fish. An active mosquito surveillance and control program was implemented in
2007 on Yokota Air Base to reduce and control mosquitoes. One measure introduced was a biological mosquito control program initiated by the 374th Civil Engineer Squadron Entomology section and the Installation Natural Resources Program Manager, Mr.Yoshitaka Yamaguchi. Medaka, also known as Japanese killifish, and Oryzias latipes are common throughout Asia and are mosquito-larvivorous, which means larvae eating fish.
