Mosquito Surveillance and Control Program
YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Master Sgt. Dennis Holt, 374th Civil Engineer Squadron entomology NCOIC, checks standing water in a storm drain for mosquito larva on the airfield. To control and prevent the spread of mosquitoes, there are several easy steps everyone should follow; remove, repair, or empty everything that could breed mosquitoes. Residents should also repair door and window screens to keep out mosquitoes. To prevent the influx of mosquito's the base self-help store provides base residents insecticides specifically labeled for controlling adult mosquitoes.
