151211-N-ZB122-010 U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Ren Forbes, 36th Airlfist Squadron loadmaster (right), and Royal Australian Air Force Warrant Officer Rod Cairns (left) perform post-flight duties after successfully dropping multiple bundles to islands in the Federated States of Micronesia during Operation Christmas Drop, Dec. 11, 2015. Operation Christmas Drop is the Department of Defense’s longest running humanitarian airdrop mission where C-130 crews drop LCLA bundles filled with donated goods and supplies for 56 islands throughout the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Federated States of Micronesia and Republic of Palau. This year marks the first ever trilateral execution that includes air support from the Japan Air Self-Defense force and Royal Australian Air Force C-130 crews.
