UN Day 70th anniversary celebration

Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, United Nations Command commander, right, and Kosei Nomura, Ministry of Foreign Affairs director, left, cut a cake during the UN Day 70th Anniversary Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, Nov. 16, 2015. The day provides an opportunity for the UNC, a unified command structure for the multinational military forces supporting South Korea, to show its appreciation for the ongoing support from sending states, supporting organizations and Japan, and to reinforce the value to regional security and stability. Attendees include ambassadors, diplomats, members of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense, Japanese Self-Defense Forces and United States Forces, Japan, senior military officers.
