Catching Yellow Jackets

A Navy EA-18G Growler, assigned to the Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 138, performs a high-speed taxi approach into the aircraft arresting system at Yokota Air Base, Japan, June 3, 2016. As the reel of the AAS spins, it activates a hydraulic pump which compresses a brake pad to safely slow the aircraft. The aircraft can go from a speed of 207 mph to a complete halt in approximately 10 seconds. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman David C. Danford/Released)
