Yokota celebrates New Year’s with community partners
Members of Takane Medachi-style Hayashi preservation group from Mizuho town perform a Shishi-mai dance (Guardian lion dance) during the annual Yokota Friendship Clubs’ New Year’s Party at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Jan. 25, 2025. The Shishi-mai dance, a Japanese folk performing art, is performed during New Year’s celebrations and festivals as a traditional event to get rid of misfortune or disaster while offering prayers for good health.
