U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Embassy leadership were given the opportunity to tour the Tanegashima Space Center prior to the launch of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System-Hosted Payload in Tanegashima, Japan, Feb. 2, 2024. The mission of the QZSS-HP is to deploy two U.S. Department of Defense electro-optical payloads on Japanese satellites to enhance space surveillance capabilities and contribute to a more resilient space environment.
