Black History Month kicks off at Yokota Feb. 1, 2024

The 374th Airlift Wing marked the beginning of February with a Black History Month kick-off celebration at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Feb. 1, 2024. The celebration featured music, trivia, games and line dancing.

Black History Month was established in 1976 when President Gerald R. Ford extended the observance, which was initially a week long. The month serves as a time to recognize, honor, and celebrate the contributions African-Americans have made to the United States of America.
