Airmen perform a foreign object debris walk Sept. 21, 2015, at Yokota Air Base, Japan. FOD is any object potentially harmful to an aircraft, ranging from bolts, screws and other metal pieces, to rocks, paper and plastic. FOD can cost the Air Force millions of dollars in avoidable aircraft damage. The entire 374th Airlift Wing came together the day after Yokota's Friendship Festival to collect any potentially harmful objects from the flightline.
