For all of us in uniform and those who support our great nation as part of our Air Force team, Memorial Day is a special holiday. Memorial Day observances began following the Civil War when it was known as Decoration Day. This day was dedicated to honoring those who had died during the Civil War.

Summer hire program coming soon

Yokota's 2009 Summer Hire Program will run June 29 through Aug. 7. The program provides federal employment opportunities for eligible family members ages 14 to 23. Seventy-two youth participated in the program in 2008. Applications are currently available on the 374th Force Support Squadron's Air
